Able Seaman C/J 15777, Royal Navy. HMS Orion. Died 14th April 1944. Age 48. Son of Arthur and Eleanor Fisk of Badingham. husband of Ivy Caroline Lily Fisk of Badingham. Buried at Badingham (St John the Baptist) Churchyard. The Leander Class light cruiser HMS Orion served as a fire support at the Salerno landings in September 1943 and again at the Anzio landings in January 1944, before returning the UK to prepare for D-Day |

STAMMERS |
Arthur |
Flight Sergeant 529174, 205 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Died 5th June 1945. Age 28. Son of Wesley George and Louisa Jane Stammers of Badingham. Commemorated on the Singapore Memorial. In April 1941, 205 Squadron received its first Catalina. With the coming war to the Far East, the squadron was engaged in trying to locate Japanese naval forces on their way to invade Malaya and the Dutch East Indies. It moved to Java at the end of the year from its exposed base at Seletar and when Japanese forces landed it retired to the south coast of the Island and in March 1942 to Australia, where it disbanded on 31 March 1942. Flt Sgt Stammers is believed to have died as a Prisoner of War |
